This module ensures that content can be easily submitted by stakeholders, and then aids in a timely and high-quality peer review process (customizable by publisher) – facilitating all aspects of the peer review process, including reviewer appointments and review assignments for both books and journals, as well as critical progress reports (dashboards) that provide updates regarding reviewer activity, and the ability to send decisions to authors, and also ensures that all final materials including prefaces, forewords, tables of contents, final chapters, and any supporting documentation can be uploaded to a project with ease.

Users can check on the status of projects at any time. Publishers can create new projects and can adjust phases and other settings for the project at any time, even having the capability to “Lock” the project to prevent changes from being made to the project once it moves to the final stages. Editors can adjust their calls for content that are created and posted within the system in order to adequately recruit content for their projects. Editors can access all submissions to their projects, including all versions of the manuscript, signed agreements, peer reviews, and communication history for each paper manuscript. Book Authors are able to easily view their deadlines, peer reviews of their work, and submit all components for their authored book projects. Notifications are provided throughout the system on various pages prompting users to perform actions specific to their projects in process.
If the provided workflow is not conducive to a publisher’s needs then they can take advantage of custom workflows that can be adapted to suit their specific acquisitions workflow, whether that includes additional communication tracking, integrating sales reports for market analysis, integrating additional imprints or divisions of the publishing house, or a multitude of other options.
If the provided proposal form templates are not conducive to a publisher’s needs then they can take advantage of the custom form application to create custom forms that can cater to a variety of publication project proposal types.
Upon login dashboards can be viewed to review status updates on project proposals under consideration. Dashboards can be customized to present critical status information that the publisher’s commissioning or acquisitions team needs to facilitate project approval.
If the provided forms are not conducive to a publisher’s needs then they can take advantage of the custom forms module which allows them to create custom forms throughout the entirety of the editorial management process.
Users can submit and manage their paper or full manuscript submissions, visual elements, which also includes various revision documents. Various “flags” can be created letting the users know whether or not their content is meeting the required specifications.
This application executes the peer review process. Editors can assign manuscripts out for review and communicate with reviewers through the system. Review boards can be managed through a special interface that also allows editors to look at reviewer dashboards, providing insight into the level of activity and quality of review that the reviewers are executing. Publishers are also able to compile different review and advisory boards for projects. The interface can be customized to suit any peer review workflow, open peer review, single-blind peer review, double-blind peer review, etc. Editors are able to easily make reviews available to the authors and send manuscript decisions.
All final materials/components can be uploaded and packaged through the system. Which also includes the numbering of manuscripts and the uploading of front matter such as a table of contents and a preface. All accompanying permissions, copyright forms, etc. are also able to be submitted and stored within the system.
